One of the most common complaints about polyurethane deck coatings is the smell, especially when working on an inhabited building. In the last few years many manufacturers have developed two-part, high solid alternative coatings, that have much less odor. These coatings have the added advantage of having a faster set time, so they can be used when shutting down a deck or breezeway inconveniences the inhabitants.
Pecora's new coating, HB1000 is the next generation of these products. It has virtually no odor, can be recoated in 4 hours, and will fully cure in 24 hours. It can be used as a traffic coating by itself or combined with a base coat (802/802FC) to give you a waterproof system. You can even order it with an integral texture, to cut out the sand broadcast step in your installation.
